PROCESS

Started by sketching a general outline of the page with a pen on paper to establish hierarchy and a fluid architecture of information.

What is your city talking about?

I created this section because the app is brand new and is only being tested in a handful of cities. Therefore, it would be a likely use-case for someone's city to not be in the system. Once, the user enters their zip code- assuming their city isn't yet being used in the app- the following screen displays a brief form to contact their city and recommend the app. If the user's city is currently being used in the app, they would gain insight on the town hall information being discussed and would be directed to download the app / create an account once an action is attempted to provide a simple vote click.

UI

Initially, I planned to design the visual assets with illustrations and color. I wanted to meet the goal of designing for a younger voting user persona, however, the site needed to meet professional standards as well to cater to government staff who would be investing more into the product itself. That is why I went with more of a collage-style black and white photography as visual assets to weigh out the informative copy.
